Understanding Wireless Video Camera

by Andi Monthat

Nowadays, our everyday lives can not be separated from video camera systems. With these cameras, we can monitor what the babysitter is doing while watching our kids. These cameras also alert us when someone breaks into our home. We can even monitor if someone is swimming in our pools.

For home security purposes, there are essentially two types of video cameras available. The first type is wired video camera and the second type is wireless video camera. Both types are essentially using the same basic components: cameras, control panels, motion detectors, alarms, keypads, etc. A wired video camera system uses standard Ethernet cable to connect devices, while a wireless system connects devices via a wireless router. Wireless video camera systems enable you to place cameras anywhere you need as long as you’re within specified distance. With wired video camera systems you are limited by camera placement.

The option to go wired or wireless depends on your needs and convenience. Many home owners get both versions. But the wired and wireless video surveillance versions give the same advantages when it comes to your home security. The advantage of going for wired video camera system is the confidence that a particular area of your home is permanently covered. A wired video camera cannot be transferred from one area to other important areas, so you have to add more cameras and have these installed in these important areas.

The most advanced innovation in home security is the wireless video camera system. These systems are much less involved in installation as there are no wires to worry about or walls to rip up, drill into, or risk destroying your home. This system can save money up front by eliminating the need for repairing those things damaged during installation but might ultimately cost more, as the need to replace batteries is quite frequent.

You can do many things at the same time with a wireless video camera system as you can add more cameras as you need. You can check certain areas while looking at other areas without going to those areas. This will save you time from going to other areas just to see what is going on in those areas when urgent job needs to be done.

When you add a mobile viewer, the flexibility of the wireless video camera system is enhanced. You can see all the important areas whether you are in the living room, dining room, in the garage, or at other areas. A wireless video camera system will give you peace of mind and control over your home.

Executive summary about wireless camera by Nahshon Roberts

Wireless cameras provide flexibility and better options for your security needs. These offer versatility and maximum performance all year round.

Versatility plus

Wireless cameras are becoming favorite surveillance gadgets everywhere.

Mobility and flexibility - Wireless cameras can be moved to different areas in the office or in the home.

Cost effective - Since it is easy to transfer wireless cameras without any technical assistance, there is no cost involved here.

No fussy wires - Wireless cameras blend well with any interior. Your interior decorating will not be marred by the presence of unsightly wires.

Different sizes to fit different needs - You have the option to get a camera smaller than the size of your thumb which you can take with you anywhere. It can record all activities better than the bigger cameras.

Available in black and white or color - Surprisingly, technology has made wireless cameras in color affordable. Color cameras are better at providing identifiable images.

How it works

It is smart to know how your wireless cameras work to be able to appreciate them. Between the camera, computer or TV, is a receiver and transmitter. The transmitter forwards the audio and video signals. The distance will also depend on the type of wireless cameras.

You can hide the camera inside a doll or a clock and it will work steadily while the signals are recorded on the regular VHS cassette tape. So get the wireless cameras for different needs: a nanny camera to keep an eye on the nanny, a doorbell camera to see who is at the door, and an outdoor camera to check on your property while you’re away.

There is no need to be alarmed about wireless cameras. Contrary to popular thinking, these are easy to set up and use.

So if you spend thousands of dollars beautifying your home, take the time to invest in wireless cameras for your home video surveillance systems.

PC  Surveillance Systems With Wireless Cameras

Executive summary about wireless cameras by Gerald Long

PC surveillance systems with wireless cameras are the future of the security system industry. If you want to have a portable, quick to install and remove, and easy to use security system, using one of PC surveillance systems with wireless cameras is the only real alternative you have.

Wireless outdoor night video surveillance cameras can be installed anywhere with only little effort.

PC surveillance systems with wireless cameras only, are not the cheapest solution. That’s why most good security system stores include mixed security systems that can combine both wired and wireless cameras. Only if you need to move your security system from place to place very often - for example if you need it to cover the construction sites - buying a fully wireless security system might be worth considering.
