Executive summary about ptz camera by Peter H Williams

Pan, Tilt and Zoom, abbreviated to PTZ, is commonly used terminology within the security and surveillance industry or marketplace. The PTZ acronym can be applied as follows: - a ptz camera, a ptz controller, ptz equipment or ptz software. A PTZ enabled surveillance camera can be controlled remotely in the following manner:

- To PAN means to move the camera from side to side or control movement in the horizontal plane.
- To TILT means to move the camera up and down or control movement in the vertical plane.
- To ZOOM means, as you’d expect, to zoom in towards or zoom out and away from your subject.

The modern PTZ camera will be a digital camera such that the zoom is no longer a movement of a lens rather it is digital zoom and all the movements, the pan and tilt, can be controlled remotely.

A PTZ camera is obviously going to be more expensive than a static or fixed camera but the versatility of the camera enables you to monitor an area which may have required 5 or 10 fixed cameras. The PTZ camera can be controlled in number of different depending on your own requirements.

How to Buy a Home Alarm System

Executive summary about alarm system by Ian White.

The best step to take to prevent your home from being burglarized is to invest in a home alarm. A home alarm system can make all the difference between peace of mind and the lack of it.

If you are considering purchasing a home alarm system, do your homework. A little bit of easy research is all that it takes to ensure that you get the best possible alarm system for your home. In fact, the first step that you can take is to call your local police station to get some basic information.

Next, contact your homeowner’s insurance company. Inform them of your intention to acquire a home alarm system and ask if they have any suggestions or recommendations for types of systems or particular companies

Next, you will need to consider which windows and doors you would like to include in the alarm system. Some systems charge by the number of zones that have been integrated into the alarm system. A basic alarm system may originally be set up for a maximum number of zones. Adding zones onto the system may be possible for an increase in price.

Homeowners will do well to select a system that can meet all of their needs. Moreover, it is wise to select a system that can monitor each zone in a single location such as the control panel. Determine the location for your control panel. The control panel is in control of the system, while the keypad allows programming of the system. The keypad also allows the homeowner to turn the system on and off.

Executive summary about home alarm systems by Mario Chompass

An alarm system for the home is needed to protect your home, your possessions and your family from intruders. When looking for an alarm system, you should know there are many different kinds of systems available. Many people look to an alarm system to protect their home.

There are many different types of alarm systems. One alarm will work to detect motion from an intruder when the alarm is activated. Another type of alarm system may detect any type of temperature change in a specific room. Depending on the type of alarm system you purchase, it may have contacts with doors and windows, motion detectors and glass break sensors.

What is great about an alarm system is that, if it is monitored by a monitoring center, it will have a backup system. This system will allow the system to work for around 24 hours if the phone lines are ever cut by an intruder or if you lose electricity

When it comes to a home alarm system, there are additional fees that are associated with them, not just the initial purchase fees. This is likely to be a monthly fee as well for the monitoring system.

Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is technology that takes all the great features of a VCR and places it in the digital age. Like a VCR, common use of a DVR is for recording TV shows or recording your kids playing football. Once you have a VCR or DVR you can record your favorite TV shows or your kid’s activity now and watch them whenever you want. With a DVR, you no longer record on a number of tapes, but on a hard disk instead. Some systems even let you transfer the content to a DVD or your laptop.

DVR system uses the same camera and structures for cabling as the
older CCTV analog systems, but the old VCRs have been replaced with DVR for
storage of the data. The data is converted to digital so that it can be stored
on hard disks, but the quality of the images captured remains analog since this
is how it originated. But current technology, you can find a digital camera and add it to the DVR, so the image is already in digital format from the time you do the recording.

With addition of a camera, a DVR can be used for home surveillance; in addition to the ability to record your favorite shows whenever you want to, DVR surveillance camera is a system that combines a DVR with a surveillance camera. Originally video surveillance was based on analog technology, i.e. closed circuit television (CCTV) and recording on video tapes.

The advantages of DVR surveillance camera are image quality, which is much clearer than a VCR; storage facility which much bigger than a tape; the ability to search for an event without need to rewind the tape.
